! Our trip to Kelly Tarlton !
Today was the day the whole school was waiting for! It’s was also the day we all got to go to Kelly Tarlton to see real sea creatures and learn about them too. But I'm also looking forward to discover new sea creatures while we're there. When the bell rang the whole school gathered into the hall. I was still in room 1, helping out Mrs William sort out her kids lunch. Then we went into the hall. We started it off with greet from our teachers, prayer then we practiced off our song for the mass tomorrow, since the bus hasn't reached here.
We sang 2 songs, then it’s was the little ones who were off ( Room 1 ).
That includes my sister and cousin and I because we were helping Mrs William carry her kids lunch container.
On the way to the carpark or the bottom of the hill, we found out that their were only one bus?!!
Mrs William were shocked because she was told and all the other teachers that were 2 buses for 140 kids. Then a few minutes another bus has arrived.
Just in time, Room 4, 5 and Room 7 has come down as well. Room 1, 4 and parents came on the first bus that was already here, and some students from room 3 and us ( people who were helping the teachers ) were on it too.
On the way to Kelly Tarlton I was sitting at the back row with some kids. I had fun because the people who were with me at the back, sang songs with me. We also got everyone involved in it too! When we were nearly their at Kelly Tarlton, I made up a quick version song “ Kelly Tarlton, were coming to you “ !
We just kept singing it, until the bus stopped for us to get off the bus. We carefully got off the bus as quickly as we could, without getting pushed by the little ones. When the all the classes came off their buses, we were all in one long line. Myself, and the helpers came back into their classes and lines up in one line. I was so overwhelmed, this was the first time I’ve ever felt overwhelmed over something.Walking to the entrance of Kelly Tarlton of a wish of mine, when I was little. I’ve always wanted to come and visit and to see sea creatures for real. My mum told me I’ve been there twice when I was a kid. But I cannot remember a thing at all.
My first step was over the moon I saw a display of all the other sea creatures that are going to be their. Our first stop was Scott’s hunt. Scott hunt’s is a display, but a house. It’s was a copy of his house. Scott lives in Antarctica which is below New Zealand. It’s was just an example of how things are in Antarctica in Scott’s house. There were a lot of things that I did see in movies, but not in real life. There were clothes hanging and socks. Not on ordinary clothes and socks, they were wool. Scott’s clothes were like a soft fabric, there was his kitchen, and a sterotape but a tape with a tube in the olden days. I enjoyed everything in Scott’s hunt because they were things in Antarctica and things I’ve never seen. Next was penguin, when we got their I was so amazed to a lot of penguin.
Their environment were all icy and covered with snow. Wonder if it’s real snow?! I also got to see a penguin close. We kept moving and we also found out that Kelly Tarlton was made and built by Kelly Tarlton is a man. Kelly tarlton was a place where all the waters from all around New Zealand came too.Kelly Tarlton died in his sleep in 1985. Being at Kelly Tarlton was the best day ever, I saw some cool sea creatures and a Shark too! When we discovered lots and lots of things we headed to a hunt, I’ll call it. It’s was a the “ Seahorse Kingdom “. Yes we did see some cool seahorse. Some of them were also pregnant, I also knew that when a female seahorse is getting a egg, she’ll go and look for a male who has the biggest stomach for space for her egg. When she has found the male she wants to keep her egg, she’ll give it to him to look after well she goes and enjoy her day…. It’s funny….
We also came across a stingray, let’s say three big huge ones! They are called “ Phoebe “. I’ve also learnt an interesting fact about a stingray, is that is sucks food like a vacuum. It’s can tell some electric, like how your heart is beating, that’s if you’re close to a stingray or going to a stingray in the ocean or the beach. Stingrays are intelligent. Toward to end of our journey we all invited for a lesson about how we can keep our sea creatures safe.We were all gathered in a room with a girl called ” Bonnie “. She showed us different awesome ways we can save our sea creatures in the ocean especially the beach. Bonnie did mention “ Rubbish “. The main thing that’s causing and destroying the habitat of our sea creatures is because of our trash. Our rubbish can lead to the beach and make our sea creatures sick, and you might not know you won’t be able to make it better. At the end we also took a feel- touch thing, we got the chance to feel a sharks teeth, egg , skin and a dried seahorse as well. We were combined into five groups. Then Bonnie would give us all of the things I just listed. My group got the bull shark, and it’s was real! It had five rows of sharp pointy teeth and if their adult teeth or any teeth from the shark falls off, it’ll grow back straight away, unlike us human being our adult teeth doesn't grow back.
We said our farewell to Bonnie and to Kelly Tarlton for the amazing day we’ve spent with them. I currently enjoy every single moment of it. I just love school trips! I cannot wait for another school trip! I also wish to come to Kelly Tarlton and remember all the other sea creatures name….
But the most important thing is to throw our rubbish into the rubbish bin.

Manaiakalani Ambassdor
Today was the Feast day of Saint Pius X School. It’s was also my Sister’s Speech too at the Panmure Yacht Club. I've finally reached school, walking into class was a shock when everyone greeted me “ Happy feast day, Hola “, because we usually don’t greet others with Happy feast day. I've then replied back to them and said the same thing to the students who came past me. Just as I was walking into the corridor to hang my bag, Mr Slade the teacher of Room 6 asked me to tell Mrs Tui if he is taking the cake into the hall or into Room 7. I was shocked when he mentioned Room 7 because the whole school can’t fit in one small classroom. When I went to look for Mrs Tui, I've found her in the office talking with the teachers who were their. I've told her the exact same thing Mrs Slade had told me. I've haven’t finished my sentence she has interrupted and asked me about my Sister’s speech. She also told me why aren't I there with her to support her ? I was speechless to say anything to her, so all I said was “ She’s still at home at the moment, but I’ll call her to come and pick me up “. Mrs Tui agreed and I've left the office in a hurry to let my reliever teacher know, because she is in Room 7 today. I've quickly helped out the girls set up the mass for the feast day of St Pius X. It’s was a pity I didn't stay for the mass. I never miss out on a feast day until today. But I'm also excited to go and see my sister say her speech.
I’ve picked up the speaker in Room 5 with Valensia who was one of my best friend. On our way to the church, In the church there is a short cut and a long way. But the shortcut is only for people who sets the mass and brings in the stuff that’s needed. I had a feeling We should go on the long way, so on we went on the long way. Just as we were about to enter the church, I saw my mum and sister, with a surprise I quickly hand over the speakers to my friend and told her to tell Mrs Tui that I'm going now!
I got into the car and told the same thing to both of them with a smile. We didn’t go straight to the Yacht club, we went home to get my nena who was still getting change. We made it home, my nena got into the car and exchanged with my mum who was the driver. Their was only one more person to go to.That was my sister’s mum who is coming with us to also look after us and support my sister too.We finally made it to the Panmure yacht Club. I've also found out that it’s was a beach house or place. My mum and nena left to get us lunch, but they’ll come later on in the day. The three of us were entered the place and went up stairs. When we got there's just started but it’s was full of people. My Sister went ot the front and sat with the other kids who were saying there speech. My sister’s mum and I were to scared to go to the front and look for a seat there so we just sat the couch at the back. But then a few minute a lady with short red hair came and told us to go to the front. Instead of going past peoples chair, we went outside the balcony, and the view was beautiful. The sun was shining and there was a beach there too. We walked to the other side to see well and hear my sister talk when she gets up. When a fewer people finished their speech, my sister was up. I kept annoying her by saying “ Good Luck “.
But it’s was worth it. She got up nervous not making a fuss about it.
When her speech was finished, we were the first two to clap our hands.
When they noticed that we were the loudest, they looked back. The students who were their got confused, and kept asking themselves why does my sister moves all the time ? But they don’t know that she has a twin.So they started simling at me. After a couple students, we had morning tea.My sister and I went to grab a juice, just as we were going their we met Mrs Tui, who said she’ll come after the mass. We showed her to my sister’s mum, and left them to have a chat. After morning tea, the students had to go with the same lady who showed my sister’s mum and to the front earlier. We all went with her to have a discuss about the learning opportunity we all could use in our classroom. My sister and I were thinking about recording, because in our class our teacher loves to film... Last term we did a video based on a blue/green screen. We also recorded our voices over our video. We thought it would be great if we got the opportunity to focus on recording our voices, whenever were doing filming a video or movie, so that we can have explain our thinking and get use to it as well. We were filmed and at the end we showed our video to all the parents, teachers and principals who were their.
My highlight of the day was getting the chance to go and support my sister as well as my sister’s mum. I also got to greet different interesting students from different schools… I also had fun, and learnt different learning opportunity from all the students, some of them wanted to know what blended space was, which was included in my sister’s speech too.

Experience Writing : Shark Finning
What do you think about Sean ?
I think that it’s wonderful that Sean loves sharks, because most people doesn’t like sharks. So what they do is kill them and the more they kill, the more they become extinct. Sean is brave because he dedicates his life by protecting sharks. Sean has also protected sharks from getting killed because of their fins. Sean is very lucky because he got also got to be on tv and he also told why he loves shark and how he can save them, from danger even though sharks are dangerous to human being. Sean is dedicating his life to the sharks because people is shark finning them, and they capture them, cut their fin off and throw the rest of the body in the sea to suffocate and watch himself die.

Who am I ?
I have a bony, medium body, a huge head , enormous mouth filled with sharp teeth and a long lure that glows in the ocean.I live in salt water and there are 200 species of me. I can be found in Indian ocean or Atlantic Ocean, at the bottom of the Ocean. I also live in deep sea, so deep that the sunlight doesn't shine on the sea, it’s also helps me to look for prey, e.g Fish, squid. I am possibly the ugliest sea creature in the world. I have spikes on myself so watch out! I am also a meat- eater.
I don’t need air-hole ,otherwise I’ll crack under pressure. I am about 5 inches. I have another name called “ Common black devil “. My fin can tell the movement in the ocean. On the end of my lure is a organ called “ esca “. When I’m hungry, I hide in the sand and sticks out my lure and wait for it’s prey.
I am a Angler Fish...
Persuasive writing about Rainbow Fish
Rainbow Fish has lovely beautiful scale. He is a unique fish, in the ocean. I think that Rainbow fish should give one of his scales to his friends.
R: Because then he would have no one to impress. His friends all want the same, so why not. Rainbow fish has so many friends, and if he can’t share, no one would like him.
S: If some one I know have something I want to have, I would ask them but if they say things that make me upset. I wouldn't want to see or have anything to do with him/her.
T: It’s a good decision that Rainbow Fish gave his scale to his friends because sharing is caring. You don’t see it, but some people know it.
Rainbow Fish does have beautiful, shinning, shimmering scale, but it’s good that he shares his most prized possessions with all of his friends. His friends will know when he is feeling down, when his needs help.
Conclusion : At the end Rainbow Fish did give his beautiful scales to all of his friends. Like I said Sharing is Caring! Rainbow Fish learnt that to make friends is by sharing his most prized possessions - Shimmering scales. Rainbow Fish was still happy. At first he was proud of his shimmering scale, but at the end he shared his scales to his friends. Rainbow Fish has a generous heart, and he is also using the virtue of caring, sharing, loving and kindness.

! First Experience at Hockey !
Today was the most interesting, awesome day because room 7 and all the classes are playing hockey for 4 weeks. No one at Saint Pius plays hockey. So this is fun to learn and to play.Room 7 were the first class to play. The thing I learnt to do was to keep the ball along with the hockey stick. We were divided into four groups by our instructor, and yes it was a relay. It’s was just a warm-up. Now it’s was learning time!. The first again, thing I learnt to do was to dribble the ball, just like keep the ball next to your hockey stick. Next was to move it side to side, but with your hockey stick. I had so much fun at doing that. Then it was putting our hockey sticks between our arms, and bounce the ball with the stick. At first I thought I’d be awesome and easy. But it’s was difficult than I thought it would, I got tired and sweaty straight after that.
Then we were joined as two groups, and it’s was actually playing hockey. I had a blast working with my team-mates, playing hockey for the first time, using strategies how to get the ball over to our side, and last but not least learning new skills or tips. I'm really excited for next week for hockey, I wonder what we’ll learn ?...
